Engaging in processes drawn from image making, sculpture and installation, Yeehwan is an artist with an experimental approach to contemporary materials. Her work can be characterised by a commitment to material truths as well as an interest in the efficacy of social relations to cultivate change. Her practice is influenced by philosophical debate around the Anthropocene, society, environment and culture.

Yeehwan was born and raised in the port town of Klang in Malaysia, where as a primary school student, she first started art lessons at a local painting studio. Yeehwan migrated to Australia in 2000 and currently resides in Gamaragal country in Sydney with her partner, children and dog. She is an experienced arts administrator having worked for organisations such as 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, Critical Path and the Australian Chamber Orchestra. She is also the owner and educator at process-focused children's art studio, The Pop Art Studio. She is committed to environmental issues and is a volunteer at the Australian Conservation Foundation and Friends of Cabbage Tree Bay.
